SUMMARY:Joint Baltimore-Washington ICRI & IIBEC Mid-Atlantic Chapter Dinner and Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Event sold out – registration is now closed\n\nMaggiano’s – Tyson’s Galleria\n2001 International Drive \nMcLean, Virginia 22102\n\nPlease join us for the chapter’s first Joint-Chapter Dinner and Meeting with the Baltimore-Washington Chapter of ICRI to be held at Maggiano’s Little Italy at Tyson’s Galleria!\nThis event will feature a technical presentation on “Ensuring a Watertight Building Envelope” presented by Brian Baker of PPSI.  We look forward to seeing you all there!\nSummary: The building envelope is made up of multiple components, supplied by different manufacturers, and installed by numerous contractors.  When failures occur, it is typically at the interfaces between these components.  These transitions become critical to the success of the structure.  This presentation focuses on where all these transitions occur, and how to ensure proper detailing, regardless of the manufacturer.\nBrian has been working in the construction products industry since 1993, with nearly all of that time focusing on how to keep water out of the built environment.   Using his experience at multiple manufacturers specializing in different technologies, he works with design and construction teams to help ensure the building envelope remains intact not only through construction, but also through the working life of the building.  Brian focuses primarily on below-grade waterproofing, air barriers, roofing, and expansion joints, using a systems approach to ensure all of these components work together.\n– Registration and Social Hour with wine and beer will start at 5:30 pm in the private dining rooms upstairs.\n– A family-style dinner will be served at 6:30 pm.\n– A technical presentation will begin at 7:30 pm\nPlease feel free to bring a guest or anyone with an interest in IIBEC and/or the IIBEC Mid-Atlantic Chapter. For questions or additional information, please contact incoming Chapter President Sam Zalok at (240) 377-1030 or sszalok@sgh.com ( mailto:sszalok@sgh.com ).\nReservations are required in advance by September 4, 2023 at 12PM EST via PayPal (preferred, using the link above) or by emailing Justin Long at justinl@skaengineers.com ( mailto:justinl@skaengineers.com ).\nPayment can also be made the night of the dinner by check or credit card, or mailed with the registration form (next page) to:\nJustin Long, PE\nIIBEC Mid-Atlantic Chapter Treasurer\nc/o SK&A, P.A.\n12435 Park Potomac Avenue – Suite 300\nPotomac, MD 20854\n
